MICROSTRUCTURE:
Alloy 51 AKV contains a random, lamellar graphite structure in a pearlite-bainitic matrix. Minor amounts of intercellular carbide and ferrite may also be found in the structure. Carbide volume percent and ultimate Brinell hardness will vary with casting section size. 51 AKV is alloyed to increase strength and improve and stabilize the structure for elevated temperature service.
