Alloy 177

(Cast Chromium Iron)

ALLOY 177 is a cast alloy that is superior in toughness and abrasion resistance when compared to other abrasion resistant white irons.

TYPICAL MECHANICAL PROPERTIES: Annealed Hardened & Annealed
Tensile Strength, psi 80,000 120,000
Brinell Hardness 380 - 450 700 min.

HEAT TREATMENT: Proprietary

MICROSTRUCTURE:
Alloy 177 (fully heat treated) consists of a discontinuous, primary carbide phase in a matrix of martensite. Ferrite and Pearlite constituents are found in the matrix in the annealed condition.
