Land and Building:

Our manufacturing facility sits on approximately 31 acres in the heart of Eastern Pennsylvania with 70,000 square feet of manufacturing capacity under roof. 

We are just ten miles from Interstate Route 80 and fourteen miles from Interstate Route 81 in the community of Weatherly, Carbon County, Pennsylvania.

Over 50,000 sq. ft. of pattern storage under roof.

Furnaces:

  • One (1) 9000 lb. capacity, 1250 KW Inductotherm VIP Power Melt Furnace (200 Hertz).
  • One (1) 7500 lb. capacity line frequency induction furnace with 800 kilowatt power supply.
  • A 2500 lb. capacity 1000 HZ Coreless Induction Furnace manufactured by Ajax Magnethermic Co.

Mold and Core:

  • Multiple, continuous sand mixers for Furan no-bake molding and core production. Special sands for critical core production.
  • One (1) International Type AN-H Mold Rollover, Size: 60" x 35" Draw, 7500# capacity.
  • Semi-Automated Molding line, 28" - 60" square.
  • Batch core ovens for special material cores.
Sand Reclamation:
  • Patented (US Patent #4,354,641) “Weatherly Classipactor” sand reclamation unit.
  • General Kinematics lump crusher.

Quality Control and Non-Destructive Test Equipment:

SPECTROLAB Spectrometer Model No. LAX X8 - WINDOWS, direct reading emission spectrometer with 15 analytical channels, with Microsoft Windows operating software.

Leeds-Northrop Carbon Equivalent Analysis.

  • Ultrasonic thickness and flaw detection equipment.
  • Liquid penetrant examination. King Portable Brinell, New Age Impact and Rockwell hardness testing. 
  • Complete metallurgical laboratory with sample preparation equipment and Unitron Model MS2-IM2 microscope.
  • Complete sand process control and monitoring apparatus.

Heat Treatment:

Oil fired car bottom furnace, 8' x 20' with Barber Coleman controller and chart recorder.

Machine and Finishing Department:

  • 30" - 102" vertical boring mills and vertical turret lathes; 16 ft. Niles boring mill.
  • 56" Bullard Dynatrol Vertical Turret Lathe with Threading.
  • 60 " G & L CNC 4-Axis Vertical Turret Lathe.
  • Full complement of turret and engine lathes. Radial drill presses and surface grinding equipment including 36" x 120" Hanchett, 34" x 90" Bridgeport and 48" x 9" Blanchard grinder with magnetic table.
  • LE BLOND Heavy Duty Engine Lathe, 29" Swing.
  • No. 4 Mitts & Merrill Keyseater
  • D.C. Morrison 1 ½" Keyseater with tilt table
  • Hines HC-1,000 Dynamic Balancing Machine with Angulator, Roller bearings, segmenting and 75 part memory, (10 lbs. - 1000 lbs.).
  • Hines HC-10,000 Single Station Computer Controlled Dynamic Balancing Machine with Angulator, Roller Bearings, Segmenting and 75 part Memory. Up to 10,000 lbs. capacity. 

Pattern Shop:

Necessary equipment to manufacture new patterns from engineering drawings, including:

  • 80" Oliver Machine Lathe 
  • Turret Milling Machine 
  • Drill Press (2) 
  • Spindle Sander (2) 
  • 18" Jointer
  • 24" Thickness Planer
  • 16" Disc Sander
  • 30" Sander
  • 20" Wadkins Lathe

Production Control:

IBM AS/400 with highly interactive database software designed specifically for foundry operations by B&L Software.

Other Fixed Assets & Equipment:

  • Bridge cranes - 15 ton (1); 10 ton (4); 4 ton (1)
  • Radio Controlled Bridge (3) (1 -12.5 ton. 1 - 10 ton, 1 - 5 ton)
  • 8 ft. Pangborn rotoblast
