Weatherly Casting and Machine Company announces equipment purchases. Weatherly (PA), Wednesday, March 26, 2003 - Weatherly Casting and Machine Company; a leading manufacture of specialty alloy irons for the power generation, material handling, mining, and pump industries has announced the acquisition of equipment that will further improve and expand operations and capabilities. An Atlas Copco, GA 180 USD, Variable Speed Drive single stage, oil injected rotary screw air compressor was recently installed to supply clean, dry plant air with significant energy savings. The expanded capability for use of plant air enables all air-operated equipment to operate more efficiently and safely. In addition, a Blanchard #22K-42 Rotary Surface Grinder has been purchased and added to the current grinding fleet at Weatherly Casting and Machine Company. With a 42" Magnetic chuck allowing for a 48" swing within the machine guard and a vertical range of 24" this machine significantly expands the precision grinding capability of Weatherly for its stable of proprietary abrasion resistant alloy irons. This equipment will enable us to provide additional quality and timely delivery for those components that require precision ground finishes. Weatherly is a highly versatile and fully integrated foundry and machine shop with unique abilities to solve the most difficult casting challenges in various iron alloys. Weatherly dates to 1900 and was one of the first foundries to pour abrasion resistant iron alloys. Weatherly's trademark, Diamite alloys are state of the art and used world wide to solve the most difficult material handling problems. With an on site pattern shop, machine shop, heat treat facility and casting operations, Weatherly will transform engineering drawings, data, or information into fully designed product to meet customer specifications.
