Hazleton Casting Company Announces the Acquisition of Weir Hazleton Foundry WEATHERLY (PA), Monday, June 02, 2003 - Michael J. Leib, President of Hazleton Casting Company, a newly formed Pennsylvania Corporation; stated that Hazleton Casting Company has acquired the operating assets of the Weir Hazleton Foundry at 225 N. Cedar Street in Hazleton, PA effective today.  Mr. Leib stated further, "Hazleton Casting Company will be operated as a separate corporation with a manufacturing facility approximately ten (10) miles from Weatherly Casting and Machine Company. The administration, purchasing and other overhead tasks will be consolidated into our Weatherly office. We will have connectivity to the manufacturing facility for efficient operation and communication. We will offer our existing customer base the opportunity to buy an expanded range of materials from Weatherly Casting and Machine Company, or if they so choose, to purchase directly from Hazleton Casting Company. Knowing that there are growing efforts to minimize vendor base, we feel that most of our customers will place orders on Weatherly Casting and Machine Company for the expanded product line of Carbon Steel, Low Alloy Steel, Stainless, and special materials. The administrative transaction between Weatherly and Hazleton Casting Company will be transparent for our customers and will not add any additional cost to the product.
